Did you know sweet potatoes contain lots of Vitamin A, which is a remarkable anti-ageing and anti-wrinkling vitamin
I went to the London Olympia Beauty Exhibition last weekend and was there for hours browsing over 400 major beauty brands from all corners of the beauty industry.
Here are couple of things I picked up from the show that I'm absolutely loving at the moment:
Beautiful Brow Kits:
These brow palettes are ideal for blondes to darker brunettes. The palettes contain a dual brush, one side is an angled end and the other end is an eye shadow brush which creates a natural or smoky finish and powders can be blended to create a multi tone look. It comes with three different stencils. After selecting the stencil shape to best match you, hold it over your eyebrow and apply the eyebrow colour. The great thing is that it lasts for 24 hours!! You can create a warm natural day time look or a smoldering night time look. The nude shadow is the perfect finishing touch for highlighting underneath brows and for defining the brow bone. Dermafood's 02 Skin Correcting BB Cream:
I've been searching high and low for the perfect BB cream and I think I've found it in the form of Dermafood!! I've been through many Korean BB creams, tried the UK BB creams and none of them have impressed me, until I came across Dermafood's Skin Correcting BB cream.
The color that best matched my skin tone was TAN - yes tan? I'm not even that tanned but strangely enough it was the best match out of the shades that they had, and this shade seemed to blend seamlessly on! I can't tell you how impressed I am. All the other BB creams i've ever tried have never blended in so well. They're always either too light, giving me a chalky look, or too dark, and even orange with some of the UK BB creams!! I'm not saying Dermafood has a wide selection of BB creams in fact, it's pretty limited but they have more than just "light, medium and dark" shades.
Dermafood's skin correcting BB cream soothes and protects irritated and trouble skin. It provides full coverage, (better than most BB or CC creams out there which only give a subtle hint of colour) but all the while it protects, calms and alleviates irritated skin. Perfect for me as I suffer from mild rosacea and super sensitive skin. I have finally found a bb cream which covers flawlessly as well as heals without irritation. Whats there not to like, a BB cream thats natural, and beneficial for the skin rather than detrimental!!
-Perfect where can I purchase my Dermafood BB cream - I hear you all cry ... er...Unfortunately it's not available in the UK right now as there are no UK stockists for the BB cream but hopefully in the near future. (fingers crossed) You can however order from the U.S, for $48. Shipping is additional. I for now will be using the BB cream in very small doses to hopefully make it last til someone in the UK stocks it!! (Dermafood)
Citrus fruits hold your skin cells together by forming collagen. This is why it's important to eat citrus fruits regularly.
Carrots are not only great to eat but they can help protect the outer layer of your skin and prevent premature ageing.
Katya: Wishing you and hubby all the best!!
Katya's wedding was in August, and she wanted a thick but natural look with slightly longer lashes with a natural curl so I chose a Mink Medium C curl with a fan type layout to compliment her eyes.
"I was a little bit anxious before the first appointment as heard a lot of of stories about bad experiences. But was not disappointed at all.
Extensions were for my wedding and they really completed my look!!I got lots of compliments and loved them so much that decided to carry on and do infills.
Emily was amazing and did such a great job.Would recommend her to all my friends and family."
Congratulations to Jia Jia who married her beau this year July 2013!!
Jia Jia came to me approximately a year ago to trial my lashes. I wanted to give Jia Jia lashes that were fuller than her own finer natural lashes, but equally I didnt want to make her eyes look too fake. On her big day I used Mink C curls in a medium thickness which was enough to make her eyes pop. I also gave her HD brows (brow shape and tint) which finished off the look framing her eyes perfectly.
This is what Jia Jia had to say about the lashes:
"I have been going to Angel Beauty for the past year for my lashes and Emily was the clear choice when it came to entrusting my lashes to her for my wedding day. I love going to Emily's as she makes it such a relaxing experience and I am consistently amazed by the transformation each time. My lashes looked great for my big day and felt really natural. Emily's lashes are also really durable and I put them to the test on honeymoon. After seven days of rough living climbing Kilimanjaro, enduring sun, sea and sand on the beach, they still looked great with minimal upkeep. I was certainly the most glamorous person on the mountain with my mink eye lashes!"
Thank you Jia Jia and many congratulations again!!
Like all my clients I am addicted to lash extensions and one of the most common questions I get asked is "
How do I make my extensions last so long?".
Unfortunately each individual has their own lash cycle so there's no absolute way of making lashes last as long as the next persons.
For me though I don't touch my lashes too often. I make sure my eyes don't touch water for at least 48 hours after the initial treatment. After that I wash my face and shower as normal letting the water run through my lashes.
I think it's important that water goes through the lashes so it clears away any make-up, dirt, and dead skin cells. By not washing the lashes regularly, you're allowing the dirt and grime to build up making a nice environment for infections to occur.
Most cleansers, make-up removers, soaps, face washes contain an ingredient called "Glycol". Unfortunately this particular ingredient is an ingredient contained in the lash remover used to remove lash extensions. I recommend using cotton buds to remove any eye make-up around the eyes using either water or a water-based make-up remover like "Simple". Dab never swipe across the lashes as you may snag a lash - ouch!!
Congratulations to Juliet, another bride that fluttered her lush lashes at the end of June 2013.
Juliet wanted her lashes to look dramatic but at the same time not too fake for her special day, so I recommended the Mink C curl for that natural curl using a 0.20mm thickness which gave her a bold enough statement but also natural enough to keep her guests guessing "are they or aren't they real".
As we hit June we can finally stow away our big woolly jumpers and coats and adorn a much lighter seasonal change of clothes as its about to get a whole lot warmer here in the UK. Wow!! Really?! I hope so because there are loads of brides this year gearing up for their special day here in the UK and it would be the icing on the cake we had blue skies and sunshine!
The wedding season is now in full swing. Book early to get luscious lash extensions for your big day.
(*If you've never had lashes always get a patch test first in case of any allergic reactions to the ingredients)
